Hi everyone finally managed a shot of a male common darter last week I've seen a few but each time I managed to mess up either scared him off or messed up the focus :oops:

Nice work Pete. They are a challenge to photograph. Some will be curious and check you out...stay close...others...any little movement and they are out of the scene. Well done.

You are right Eccles I would have been better moving the camera to the right a bit

Hiya Pete,

Great shot/capture, there's a very distinct lack of Dragon & Damsel round my locality this Yr. even though I had numerous Southern Hawkers from my pond, most disappointing.

thanks Mark you are right I,m stuggling too I have seen a lot less Dragons and damsels this year after a good start in May its been very quiet
