I never seen any spider like that before too.

cool, we have this same genus here in Western Australia (near my home), can't recall what it is, but yours is much more colurful. Ours is primarily, silver/white, yellow and black but equally superb.

always hangs upside down in its web which is about 20cm or so from the ground.

does yours do the same?
