Here is what will happen, you will buy it. They will call you the next day and confirm your order. As they do this they will try to sell you everything else under the sun for outrageous prices. You will say no to all their other stuff and then majically the body will be on back order and they don't know when it will be in stock again. Just look at the same site and click on the body with a 2GB card package. Thats $849, $350 more dollars for something you can get for $25-50 dollars anywhere else. I tried this with another site once and thats the runaround I got. I laughed at the guy when he tried to sell me a CF card for $300 bucks. Yea, if you buy my bridge for $1000. Try it, they by law can't charge your card until they ship so in a day or two you just cancel your order since it WILL be backordered.

40D, 20D, 24-105 4.0L, 24 2.8, 70-200 2.8L, 18-55 kit lens, 2 x 430ex's, way too many extras to list and even more that I need

I love their testimonials section. It just makes me laugh! I saw a bunch of seedy looking camera shops when I was in NY recently. I wouldn't try buying from them, as it would mean they have my credit card number, and if they are that untrustworthy, then who's to say they won't charge your card anyway?

Folks - please just buy from reputable dealers - please! This should be in the Market Watch section as well.

If something is advertised WELL below market value - there is a catch - pure and simple.

What law is that?
B&h always charges your card immediately. Even special orders with long waits.
From their site: This is a special order item and is non-cancelable or returnable. Est. arrival at B&H 6-10 weeks (subject to availability). You will be charged upon placing your order

Yeah, I want to know that law as well, because our furniture store took our CC payment for bedroom furniture that has to be shipped from Denver to Indiana, with a timeline of 1-4 weeks.

Bottom line to your question on $499 being too cheap!

What do you think? I'm sure you think it is if you're asking the question.

Most people have a gut feeling when they know something is wrong. That ad is bad and they want to cheat you in a multitude of ways. You just can't buy things under cost. Companies like B&H sell the 30D for around $1000. They have very little markup.

There is your answer!
