I have mine about six months (they were only released about that long) and no problems so far (touch wood) Well built only thing missing is a hard case.

I can get away with about 40gig of uploading to the device before it tells me it's running out of battery.

Nice, thanks. I was nervous that it woul donly last for 4-5 cards of uploading. I was looking at the 'imagetanks' on ebay a whil eback and the batteries last like 1 hour of use and thats it.

All day shooting with about 20 card downloads (cards being about 50% full) with plenty of chimping in the beautiful screen. Sorry Steve didnt see battery at the end.

and if it matters you can watch at least a full movie on it aswell... cant wait till all devices use 'smart' batts like the sony vid cams and MKIII - give ya 'x' minutes remaining rather than flashing batt sign like on the epson a few mins before it dies in the a$$

Look on ebay, you can buy an external charger and extra battery for roughly 10-20 bucks. Spare batteries about 10 dollars. Overall, it works well. The model number is EU-97

yeah I agree with nutnbolts, get extra batteries and the external charger, can't go wrong.

In my initial tests, i managed to get over 40gb of straight copying.

If you have a P3000, don't forget to Upgrade the hard drive to 120gb (external link) ;) :D

I can download about 8 gb on my P-2000 before it goes red, but I have a back up battery. :)

Wow that's crappy battery life! There are 8gb CF cards and if I had one and then decide to transfer the 8gb so I can free up my 8gb, it almost makes the p2000 worthless.

I've got 2 old batteries, so I can't tell you if 2 new batteries will do better. I've had my P-2000 for over a year and it belonged to someone else before that. I usually plug it in and transfer at the hotel if I'm on the road. That's why I have 16 gb of memory cards when I'm out.
