My 135L is my "macro" lens for medium big items. It's excellent. I use my 50mm CM for "real" macro and then really only to 1:2. I never shoot 1:1. Too demanding really vs. my interest level.

I can shoot frame filling shots of things as small as a dragonfly (about 50mm wide) with my 135L. The nice thing is also I tend to use the 135L as my no-tripod macro. I shoot my 50mm CM exclusively on the tripod....usually at f/11 to f/16 for adequate DOF.

I use a Canon 5DIII and a Sony A7rIII

you can also get the 500D close up lens to stick on your 135. It wouldn't take that long to unscrew it from the lens.

Oh Thank you so much guys!!! These photos are exectly what I'm looking for! The macro I tried last night annoyed me too much. Too slow focusing, trying to get a decent amount of the flowers in focus and the feel of not being able to just see something focus, get steady and snap was frustrating. More power to those who do macro well!!
