I just spent a day in Harbour Island, a 2 hour boat trip from Nassau, to photograph some of the cute little cottages there. It's such a different way of life - chickens running up and down the narrow streets, golf carts instead of cars, and these pretty homes overlooking the harbour - very peaceful! Hope you enjoy them, C&C welcome.

I like the last shot best ... maybe because that is one of my favourite trees ;) ... the first shot looks slightly tilted to me.

Comments and crits are much appreciated.

It certainly looks peaceful, No.2 is my faveroute.

Great weather too, I'm quite jealous. It's rained most of the day here :(

Thanks for the comments - Colyn, after a couple of Kalik beers, the whole island seems to tilt  If you think it's tilted to the right, that seems to be a bad habit I have!:o

Ok then it is not tilted ... it is the lense ;) ... nothing serious but good to keep in mind when shooting buildings that you should Zoom out a bit ...

I usually take my wide angle lenses on a test drive and shoot something like poles or pillars and do a shot on each of marked settings on the lense and see if there is distortion and how much and then keep that in mind as I use the lense.

Thanks very much Colyn, I will definitely keep that in mind.

It's good to see some shots from you again, Elisabeth-Ann! I was thinking about you just the other day! These are terrific, I love the first one! I could see myself living there!

What a relaxed looking place! Great shots too! They remind me of the Cayman Islands.

Yeah, I was wondering myself. I like each of these in a different way. Love the sky in the first one, but it does "seem" tilted or at a funny angle or something. Love the golf cart and the B&W of #2 and love the complementary colors in the last one!

Thanks Becca and everyone for your comments. I had the same thought about the first house, and saw the owner (the folks in HI don't mind their houses being photographed and I've been asked to put the pics in the local souvenir store) - I told him what a lovely house he has, wish it were mine. He grinned and said "think money!!"

Thanks for thinking of me - I've been extremely busy, and also recently went on a trip to the Canadian Rockies. I'll try to post a few shots from there in a day or two.

Since you mentioned Kalik, I had to attach this picture I took at Normans Cay last fall. By no means a stellar photo, but helped motivate me to get some new lenses and a new DSLR.

(I hope this attached correctly, this is my first post on this forum)
