Bueller? Anyone? Maybe on a Mark II or Mark II n? Does it vignette the more it's stopped down?

Thanks!

Well - I don't have any shots with a MarkII/n (but if you send me one I will try :-D)

It doesn't vignette on my 20D - I usually shoot from f/8 to f/16... so it might at the f/45 it can provide (though the dust at f/45 is insane!)

Here are some macro shots with it: http://photos.scottbrownphotography.com/p472861799/ (external link)

And photos 14-27 here http://photos.scottbrownphotography.com/p855145304/ (external link) are with the Sigma... (I added my own vignette to a few of the shots)

Great shots - thank you! It's sharp wide open I'll assume?

Well I'm thinking since it's not a DC lens, it will work fine. It's a great price too...I might have to offload my extension tube set for this.

http://www.pbase.com …s/sigma/50_28_ex_dg_macro (external link) will give you pics, but I can't promise you they'll be on the bodies you've requested.

Yeah I've looked. The downside like you said though is that there are too many different body variations. I was hoping by posting here someone could gimme a couple examples from a 1 series body

It is pretty darn sharp wide-open. The only issue I have is the focus speed... but for the price (I paid $200 used) I can't complain for a 1:1 macro.

I use it along with my extension tubes to get some crazy effects :-D

Well I might throw down for it then and see what happens... Keeping the tubes would add some good effects.

By the way, I don't think I've ever seen a lens that vignettes more when it's stopped down.

Good point. I was thinking, "oh cool, I can still use this lens" when I sold my 30D and bought a 1D Mark II... until I shot a picture stopped down. So out the door it went (I miss it dearly) and now I have the 50mm f/1.4

I know...
Mine was just sold last week. Funny though, shoulda kept it. It works great up until f4 at which point I'd rather use my 24-70 anyway. Hah! I might pick up the 50 1.4 too but I'm not sure I really need another low light prime.

Anyhoo Lani Kai and all, I appreciate the feedback! I found a disgustingly cheap copy on Adorama today and it'll be on the doorstep Wednesday!

*Time to start an Archive when it shows up :D
