In his blog he is on a trip and he is shooting exclusivley with a 5d and looks like a 70-200 lens and soem sigma lens's. I think he will see the 'light' no pun intended.

HEH well for anyone who cares he posted today on his blog soem shots he took with the 5d. It looks liek he is absolutley in LOVE with the 5D and was bragging to his nikonian friends shooting at ISO 1600 while they were packed up. NICE I think anyways to see a icon in the industry and a strong nikonian being pampered by canon.

there are two answers to that question, both of which are correct.

1. it's not important

2. men are highly competitive by nature, therefore something must always be better than others things that are similar. As such, so believe canon is better than nikon and other believe the opposite.

If you're a camera manufacturer, you want Scott Kelby using your equipment and singing its praises. A lot of people respect him and will make buying decisions based on what he says about a camera.

In celebrity endorsement terms, he's worth more than Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods combined.

I agree with first part of your statement, but I have doubts about the 2nd half.

It was a tongue-in-cheek sort of comment. I suppose if I was going to run a TV ad to sell cameras to the general population, I would go with a sports icon or something.

But if I was going to run an ad in a Photo magazine and sell something to serious photographers, Scott would be my go-to guy.

For those that haven't heard of Scott Kelby, he's founder of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals and has authored several books on Photoshop, Lightroom, etc. Read one of his books and you'll know he is a real world, common sense guy who knows his stuff. He's like the anti-Ken Rockwell.
