A set of extension tubes (kenko, Jessops if in the UK or Pro-optic from Adorama if in the US) will sort you out. Will give you a max magnification of 2:1 at the expense of a closer focus distance and some loss of light but no IQ loss. Using Extenders will always give some some loss of IQ which may or may not be noticeable but I wouldn't go above 1.4X.

I can only find a Kenko tube for AF lens. Kenko website doesn't seem to list a tube for EF. And the Canon website doesn't list the 100mm as being compatible with the 2x EFII ?

Yes, there's a loss of IQ with the TC (use -1 EC to counteract to get a proper exposure, which does help a bit)

It's fully compatible with the Kenko TC. You also have autofocus too.

Forgive my doubt, its just that Kenko dont state that EF's work with their stuff.

Yes, that's the one. I have the Kenko Teleplus Pro 300 2xTC, also Kenko extension tubes.

Both work perfectly well with my 5D and 100mm Macro lens.
