If you want an idea of the magnification, this is uncropped. The lines are the mm scale on a measuring tape.

This is with a minimum focus distance of 4 inches.

Kenko does make the Enxtension tubes for EF-S compatibility but you have to make sure it says so on the box.
The box is marked for Canon-EOS EF/EFS

https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=343868

Make sure to ask when ordering, make sure that the red dot (EF) and white square (EF-S) are visible on the tube mounts

hope this helps

Not totally correct. My Kenko extension tubes only have red dots, but they worked perfectly well on my 30D.

Pete
Yes they will work with a 30D as the mount on the 30D is compatible with EF and EF-s Lenses.
The question is with regards to the lenses not Bodies. (EF-S lenses protrude a little further into the mount area)
Which is why EF-S lenses won't work on 1D's and 5D's as the EF-S lens could cause damage to the mirror.
However there is an updated version of the Extension tubes made by Kenko that works with EF-S lenses.
No modifications are needed to enable the tubes to accept EF-S lenses as long as you purchase the correct Kenko extension tube set.
So if you have EF-S lenses such as the 10-22mm with the smaller Kenko EF-S compatible Extension tube it should be possible to mount the 10-22 lens to a 1D series or 5D body
it is a compatibility issue with the lenses not camera bodies.

Apologies if I misunderstood. I've only ever used the tubes with EF mounted lenses.
