Try as they might, the promoters were unable to disguise the fact that attendance at the annual "How long is a piece of string?" competition was way down.

In the current economy, it was found that hiring girls to hold the rope barrier was cheaper than renting the stanchions.

the girls were supposed to graduate from the Talented & Gifted Program tonight, but sadly, they went the wrong way down the aisle.
