OMG, teach me please! I'll pay for your flight to Australia!

Maybe not, but you know what I mean. :-)

Beautiful shot as always.

Superb texture to the shot Brian.

I was thinking the same as Mark that the one on the left looks like enormous sponge lips LOL

Brian - this is what we like to see for flower photography. The dramatic lighting, the precise colors, the isolation, and being able to see something we don't normally see. Great job with the focus stacking, too.

I need to do more work with flowers...

Using a program like CombineZM (free btw) you take many photos with different focus points and the program puts them together so the whole subject (or the part you want in focus) is in focus. I've been playing with it for a few days and it is amazing. Never would have known about it had it not been for the people at POTN :)

Oh, here is the site:

Thank you for that :)

This may explain why I see some flower shots that are really sharp yet when I do it they are not quite the same.

Thanks for the comments all- much appreciated :)
I'm much happier doing bits of flowers than whole ones :)
See you have found the links to focus stacking tutorials using combinezm.
Mark- never was a fan of early stones records ;) :)
Bill - pm me with the problem you are having.

Gordon- not certain but I think it's peppermint candlestick variety - something like that anyway- one of the tender doubles.

Very nice Brian. Flower shots normally don't do to much for me but I really like this. The whole charm of macro photography is to show things that the naked eye cannot see, so go for the bits instead of the whole!

Superb Brian.

You shouldn't have told us the flower id and simply waited to see if anyone would guess it...;)

I know I would have struggled.
