Not sure which one of the Syrphini yet - my book should be in any day now, which will help :)

Pic cropped quite a bit because I couldnt get any closer, also am intrigued with the bulge at the very end of the abdomen - wonder if its an egg about to be laid - hope so :D

Not one of my better shots but wanted to get a couple in after the torrential downpour this evening and it was a little breezy (excuses, excuses lol)

Nice shot Linda it looks like Sphaerophoria scripta to me and the bit under is its sexual organ which unfolds. It's a male so no eggs.
