Another image from my trip to the Rockies this summer. Only wish I could have been there long enough to have a train in this one:(

Nice shot Elisabeth! I really like the lead-in with the railroad track to the background. Very nice!

I think you are right. I never would have thought about it but since you said it, you should have waited for the train :)

Great shot, as you say the only thing to improve it would be a train.

Upper and Lower Kananaskis Lakes. Spray Lakes. Morraine Lake. Bow Falls. Columbia Icefields. Takakaw Falls - 1 hour drive into Yoho National Park. Chateau Lake Louise. Banff townsite. Johnston Canyon. Tunnel Mountain. Mt. Norquay - great lookout view - http://www.glencophotography.ca …6/Large/IMG_8144_copy.jpg (external link)

Those are just a few things you can do. You can go hiking, kayaking on the kananaskis river, horseback riding, or just take a tour. I'm sure if you're at the Chateau, they have daily organized tours.

Beautiful shot. I would love to take a train ride through there. I bet you see some amazing sights.

Don't miss Takakkaw Falls - when I was there last month all the rivers and lakes were very full from heavy rains just prior to my visit. Takakkaw Falls was really gushing!! It's really impressive. And thanks for visiting my site - all the places we went to should not be missed! Kicking Horse Pass is a bit disappointing now though, since the trees have grown so high that you can hardly see the spiral tunnels now. I've been going there a few times over the last 30 years, so I've really seen some changes.

I've actually taken this exact same shot. You should see this place in the winter. So nice...
