Send the camera back to Canon if it's still under warranty, Fabien. And if it isn't, a new shutter is only around 250 bucks.

Hi
I'm Nancy. I've been taking photos for 37 years and I feel like I'm just starting to learn how

I spend far too much of my work day here in POTN land, and for that, I'm truly sorry, but unrepentant.

Good morning all, from my cube,
Nan

Toogy and Grace,

It went into endless sleep mode on its own will one night while I was using it at a graduation party.

It lasted exactly 4 months before it died...I'm getting it fixed, but this sucks soooo much more than normal...

Since I'm at it, I hope you don't mind me telling you my sad story...get tissues...hehehe!

I live in Brazil, and we have a lot of grey market stuff here, so I decided to pay more and by my XTi from a store in NYC...and I got CPS extended warranty for about USD 230. I had to sell my little brother to pay for import taxes (JK, but it was very expensive).

I was so not worried when my camera stopped working, since I knew I had the extended warranty...but after 3 weeks of daily phone calls and emails, my coverage was "denied" by CPS and I'm paying USD 400 to get my XTi fixed now out of my own pocket...

I'm sooooo going to find a big fat duck to shoot when I get it back!! Hopefully by the end of next week. :)

Well, that's my story... sniff sniff...

I'd like to get that one or the 35L. My choice will depend on the number of bookings for next year. But I need to replace both of my ancient DSLR's first. The 20D images are looking kind of funky. I think it needs to be recalibrated or something.

How so? Just curious, my 20D is getting pretty old as well, but I haven't noticed anything funky with the images.
I'll probably get a 40D when they come out this fall and relegate the 20D to my 3rd camera.

Deltroid that is truly sad and very unfair. But since you still have your little brother, maybe you could sell him now to expidite the shipping?
