Calculating Power

I am trying to figure out what focal length I have. The picture is a 800 x 600 full scale, cropped photo of a 2006 penny. I used Canon 5D so there isn't any 35mm magnification factor. The I attached the Canon 2x TC, followed by 68mm of Kenko extension tubes, then my Tokina Pro-D 100mm macro lens. I used mirror lockup and a shutter release to reduce vibration. Any help would be appreciated. --Rick

Nice shot- haven't the feintest idea what the focal length was but the magnification would have been just over 4:1 in the original shot. The sensor size is irrelevent for magnification factor. So on your 5D the full width of the shot would have represented around 8.7mm.

Don’t take a pic of a penny, take a pic of a ruler preferable calibrated in mm. It's much easier that way. You see 9mm then you have 4:1
