You all aren't staying up for the Lunar Eclipse?

Took this photo 3 years ago during a lunar eclipse, had my 10D hooked up to a telescope

Toogy!!!
That's AMAZING!
Do you still do that (shoot with a telescope)?

I was going to try to take my cheapie 75-300mm out and do a mirror lockup, timed, detonated remote, whatever this thing does for night/long exposure shots. Not sure I'm going to be up for it at 3am though (plus, we've got some nasty weather over us right now).

cool, where do you stay in the US?

I have a hell layover in LA on the way in so will try to catch up with some friends there. Then on to Denver where I stay for three days.

Then to Sioux Falls to be picked up by family and the remaining time in Iowa and Minnesota.

This is a real short trip for me - usually I do five or six weeks, but this one is not even four weeks ;(

Not really, I was at a friend of a friends house and he had the telescope, for comparison, here is the same moon that night with a 75-300mm lens at 300mm

I don't suppose you'd remember what your in camera settings were do you?
I can take photos at night, but I don't think my tripod is a very good one for very long exposures..
