I don't suppose you'd remember what your in camera settings were do you?
I can take photos at night, but I don't think my tripod is a very good one for very long exposures..

1s f/5.6 at 300.0mm iso200

you really can't keep the lens open that much longer with the moon or you will get motion blur. Unless you are on a telescope that corrects for the earth movements, on the one with the telescope it was an 8 second exposure.

Try to avoid coming in June, July, August, etc..

I love the eastern part of New Mexico, there's a lot of really funky cool little ghost towns, worth exploring.. I keep meaning to get out to one and explore..

Well, with the diving holiday I have planned for 2008 plus return trips to the US, it will be at least 2009 before I'm able to start considering it - I will pick your brains when I get organized ;) You can use it as an excuse to make yourself to get out and explore!!

This was about the best I could do with a long exposure type of shot. (Lightning storm during 4th of July)
Darned telephone pole in the way though...

Well, I just loved the fact that I got the lightning and the fireworks.

I'm planning to retire to New Mexico, hopefully in about 12 years. I've been researching the various areas and am thinking about Cloudcroft or Taos.

got a question for you jeff.....when you bring up an image in lightroom that has red in it....when its "working" the photo and finally is done for you to tinker with it....does the red not keep its true color and then turns to a slightly orange-ish color? How do you stop that?
