I think it would be a good idea personally. I'm wowed at the 40D specs. But the real verdict will come when people buy it and we see the image quality. But I can't see it being bad. Canon doesn't put out cameras with poor image quality.

I'll definitely wait until after it comes out to hear reviews. Honestly, I doubt I'll even notice a difference, which is why I think I should sell what I have

Good idea. Just make sure you have two bodies when you shoot a wedding.

IF I ever shoot a wedding again, I've made arrangements to borrow a XTi from a friend until it seems worth it for me to own my own second body.

Also, no need to say good equipment is wasted on you. Your first wedding pictures were far better than a lot of peoples first photos.

Thanks for saying so! Hopefully I'll get the chance to keep improving...

That means we can probably have focus screens with gridlines or stuff on it. It will not change the position of the AF sensors at all. I believe there is also some kind of split prism manual focus screen!!!!! YAY!!! Reminds me of shooting manual focus lenses almost two decades ago. Split prisms ROCK!

Awesome, so my thoughts were some-what on with what it actually is. My only kudos to Nikon vs Canon is the grid imprinted on the focus screen. I really do like this. I think it'll be nice that we can now do this with the 40D.

I know that Canon says cameras like the 20D don't have interchangeable focus screens...but third party companies have been making them for years. So that's not really a new feature, is it?

Either way, I wouldn't mind either a split screen or a grid screen.

I avoid the 3rd party screens. I've heard they can do funny things with metering, it's finicky to install (lining up AF sensors to the screen), and voids your warranty. I trust the bazillions of dollars in canon's R&D.

I've know a couple guys (other forum) who did it. It's like cleaning the sensor, kind of scary if you don't know what you are doing...but when you understand the pieces involved, it's supposed to be fairly easy.

Might be worth trying on one of your older cameras.

Hi, I'm pretty new to this forum.. been reading and looking at pictures for a couple of months now and finally got the courage to get an account. Although I've been doing weddings for 2 yrs now, I haven't done any this wedding season because of me being so overly preggers and just having my baby girl last month. I don't have my first weddings until October. I'm so excited to learn from you guys and hopefully I'll have something to offer in October!

I know that you guys probably are like a POTN family here, so I thought I introduce myself while I barge into your chit chat conversation here...LOL
