Lloyd - you of all people have no right to get jealous over a 40D, Mr. MKIII owner!:D or - get jealous and send me which ever one you don't like anymore!

hahaha grace you're so funny.
I have a serious soft spot for 1.6 crop cameras. I think they're really the bees knees. Only reason I'm considering the 40D is because my 20D is really starting to get old and I've far surpassed the 50,000 shutter life. I'm expecting it to blow up any day now but the bugger is still going strong like day 1, so I may never get the 40D :(

My 20D sounds great too. I use it for sports.

...I am also wondering if I should bit the big huge bullet and save for the MKIII and bypass the 40D.

The focus system is pretty much the only reason to get the mark III. The 40D is so awesome and it steps on so many of the mark III's toes that it's crazy. If the focus system is worth the $3000 extra, then go for it. But the 40D's focus system is pretty advanced too, with the extra precise cross type AF points active with lenses 5.6 and faster or something like that. The 30D centre cross type is only active at 2.8 and faster. That's quite a leap!

I have been so spoiled. To buy another camera body would be asking a lot. But I get you, Lloyd. And I'm jealous of you MKIII. ;)

lol.... often I pick it up and feel like I'm not worthy of holding or owning it. I almost broke it too... being the nerd that I am I mounted my EF-S 10-22 on it and the mirror smacked the rear element of the lens and I got an error 99 and it shut itself off. yikes. It works great from 13-22mm though.

well, let us know when you get it! I can't wait to see someone post up 40D wedding pics.

I tried highlight tone priority for the first time just this last weekend. It seems to be pretty effective... but I haven't even looked at the files yet so I won't know for sure.

I want a 40D soooo bad. Think if I ask my husband really nice, he'll get me one for Christmas?

I'm so supposed to be getting ready to go ... daughter has her 18 month old shots today and also dropping off my proposal for the school photos ... yikes!

Okay, I'm going. Really.

Me neither. I'm a huge fan of Steve, but never could get into the style of the show.
