And I'm not sure, but capacitors in the speedlites are most likely electrolytic so it MUST work in the proper polarity, so there will certainly be circuits in there to prevent reverse polarity damage. -Lloyd

I'm a nerd.. Right on all counts. If we could reverse polarity in the flashes, they would make the room go black, albeit for only a fraction of a second. I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!
