Going to speak with him on Tuesday ... I wanted to have some photos to bring with me to show him that I am not just "some kid", but rather a professional who knows what I'm doing.

I looked at the shots of your brother, they're great! I'll keep bugging you about this.

*push, push, push*

Brother shots fairly average, like you said it was 5 impromptu minutes i'm sure you'll do much better with more time when you go out specifically to do them.

Do you shoot senior portraits?

Yeah, they're nothing special, just quick snaps as he wanted a few for facebook. I'll be able to do a lot more when I have him and his friends out for a few hours for my "sample" senior portraits.

I think I might actually work on my brochure ... which will be black & white, not only because I'm cheap, but because those are my colours.

Or would it be cool to have black & white on the outside, then a burst of colour on the inside? Hmmmm ...

I think the kids here would love them, and I'm not just saying that because you're sweet. More than some fancy portrait, they, meaning the student and their parents want photos that portray the real personality of the student as they were at this time of their lives. Those would sell faster than any perfectly composed, perfectly lit presidential type pose. Don't cut yourself short Bryan! Those IMO are good stuff!

Well thanks Kathy! And this is why I want to offer senior portraits here - it shows the REAL personality of the senior. This is how my brother acts. This is him being a goof. This is him in his natural environment - comfortable, natural and relaxed. Not an uptight, perfectly done portrait. Not for me at least.

Nope, it's not done in New Zealand, AFAIK the USA is the only place where this is regular and expected.
