That 40d looks absolutely unbelievable. Let me tell you, I was planning on getting a 30d come Fall, but I'm going to hold out until January and grab the 40d.

I'm curious.. and have to ask..
This is a "would you if you could?" hypothetical type of deal.

Would you go for this, if you had it like that and you could?

I would think, I would rather have a film med. format with a digital back (so I could shoot both digital and film if I wished) than to have a "medium format" that is exclusively digital...

Just my two cents worth.

I'll hold out until next summer, that way you will have had yours long enough to tell me if it's worth it or not:lol:

All I had to do was look at the price tag and go "no comment here!" My brain can't even function at those kind of prices! Sorry!:)

Solaria..

I hear you on the 5D, but that is out of my limits right now...I can't wait to get these few weddings under my belt and start to buy things again, we took the summer off because of my partner having the baby...so we are back and running now.

I don't know enough about it to make a proper judgment to be honest. Also, seeming as I'm only 19, I have never actually had the pleasure of shooting a film SLR (i've shot film, just not an SLR), so, I don't really have much to miss.

In the dream world I'd be walking around with 2 mk3s.

Yes Lisa, I got the sigma 30mm F1.4 yesterday, looks pretty sweet! I am second shooting a wedding tomorrow and am seriously tempted to just use the 30mm on one camera and the 85 on another.

I guess I still like film, sometimes. It's not cost effective while shooting professionally (which is why I'm all digital now), but for crawling around out in the desert, it might be pretty cool.

My head goes to these places, everytime I get a Powerball ticket.. and yes.. gah.. I buy them. A girl can dream can't she?

See the problem with that Jeff is that you don't look as pimp s when you walk around with a 2nd camera and a sexy, big, white lens on it.

Would you like me to send you a film SLR? I've got plenty of them laying around in boxes collecting dust!:)

Jeff,

Is it a sharp copy? Mine was. I read a lot of complaints here about the Sigma 30MM f/1.4 being soft out of the box. I hope that yours is not that case. Just curious.

Jim -- I keep the Leica D-Lux 7 in the Glove Box just in case!
