Yep, the 14mm UWA is a revision of the current L lens. Hope it's not a compromise like the 16-35mm Mk II.

Can you elaborate ? What compromise did they make with the 16-35mm Mk II  ???

Apparently, it was a design compromise. Here's a review on amazon.com (external link) that asserts the new lens is superior from 16 to 24 mm. However, from 24 to 35 mm, the Mk I is supposedly better. Others on fredmiranda.com have come to similar conclusions, but yet others have claimed the opposite. Oh, well.

Well its going to be one hell of a beasty camera... But I too am short $$ wise. About 5,000 short. It will be neat to see those who get it and drool over.
