Loads of these Six-spot Burnet Moth, (Zygaena filipendulae) on an area of high chalk heathland.

On Common Bird's-foot-trefoil, Lotus corniculatus a main food plant of the Five and Six-spot Burnet.

good looking moth. would like to see them with wings out but i know it's tough to get one since they tend to fold them up.

They are lovely to see flying around, they are quite slow and bumbling with the red wing spots making a flashing pattern.

Nice set Lester. Burnets love knapweed. I've seen up to half a dozen before now on a single flowerhead.
