Some time ago in Rio, I found this child crying forlornly on the busy street next to Ipanema.

a very evocative pic Ollie and a scene that I'm sure is played out many many times in that city.....terrific documentary style in this shot too.

Yea. Agree with bikerider, but I'm not a big fan at all of that added background filter that was done. I actually hate it. It doesn't transition well into the photo foreground and it doesn't blend into the photo well in general. Just take it out is my opinion, then it would be an amazing shot.

Thanks Roger. This is unfortunately too common scene there (like in many similar cities).

AC, interesting to see that not only the content but also processing can create strong feelings (which I somehow expected as well). I will not change it yet, then Magnum won't find me as serious contender. ;)

Alright. I mean its almost there, I'm just not a big fan at all of obvious PS built in filters. :)

Dont get me wrong though I love the shot's content.

That's why we are here, giving our opinions, AC. Yours appreciated as well, a lot actually, because you were able/willing to say what could be done differently.

That is truly one of the saddest things I've seen in awhile. I'm not a huge fan of the processing but honestly I don't really care. It's the the subject that's so compelling.

Please know that I'm NOT a professional photographer - nor even a good amature!:D My comments are always just from a consumer's point of view!;)

This shot is very interesting and emotional. Wonder what the story was behind this little guy:cry:

Excellent PJ capture, Olli! The photos has a sort of 70's look, it seems that it was taken from an old Time or Newsweek magazine. Thanks for sharing.

This is a true compliment, Pio. (And additional thanks to you for 'stealing' your way to add shooting location to the title of the thread.)

Lol, Olli, I can hardly take credit for that, but thanks anyway. You probably should always add the shooting location to your photos because you travel so much!

Nice shot! The PP fits in this photo and it makes you think if the boy is lost or hurt. Good job!
