First off, even though it sounds cliche, I now have even more respect for wedding photographers than I did. Long hours, smiling at everyone, remember shots you wanted, malnourished, and nervous (this may just apply to me ;) ). I'm just glad that I'm going to be able to be a 2nd shooter for a few before I really get into this.

A few things I need to improve on:
Watch for bg clutter
Confidence to get all the angles no matter whos way I get in
Confidence to take over formals, and "steal" the B&G for their formals
Basically I need an abundance of confidence :)

Oh, and I didn't clone out a lot of stuff (ie water hose, umbrella, wall art, cabinets etc) because this wasn't a paid gig so I didn't spend a lot of time on it. Also, pretty much all my inspiration came from here, so thank you all for posting your techniques and shots.

C&C welcomed

Thank you so much liza. Considering it's my first wedding, I really appreciate your comment.

I love the cake shot! The cuff links one is nice too. I don't think people usually get enough detail shots of the guys.

And I understand the confidence thing--I was the same at my first and only wedding. My hope is that it just takes once to learn that you need to assert yourself and get the shot!

Thank you. The cake shot is a technique I picked up from Banbert. He has a couple of vids showing how he accomplishes different shots, very helpful. The groom is a pastor, so this was a more conservative wedding. No bride getting ready shots, no picking up of the bride shots, and no first kiss or first dance shots. So, I got the groom to get picked up, and got him getting ready.

I'm also hoping that being a 2nd shooter will help build my confidence to get those great shots.

#2 & 6 are my favorites
#8 need some fill flash (or more of it) you loose his suit completely (or is that my monitor)
#9 & 10 - don't inspire me, maybe a little better lighting or creativity and they would pop

Thanks for the comments jilly.

Yeah, I had just bought a flash, and was messing with it the day before. When I started to look at them, I kicked myself for not using more power.
