Wasps do it to, and they can actually land on the surface and float on it while they are drinking! There was just enough current in the puddle to keep me from shooting it and the wasps were more skittish than the bees. Something I'll try to capture as a closeup the next time I'm there.

u know what amazes me the most?that u went in to no protective clothing and didnt get stung but the bee keepe5r did with his protective clothing on..hehehe thats mad..great work

It happened right after he removed one of the honey comb racks. The bees weren't very active (at least they weren't coming after him) so he removed his hood and a bee landed on his nose and stung him...
