Have you ever heard of a fella named Johnny Hartford?....This picture reminds me of the photo on one of his albums. He did some goofy music back in the 70's. Google him, you'll find the album.

I like them. I feel the focus was missed and that bothers me more, especially since you were aiming for the eyes. However, that is very hard with self portraits. I feel they are a more than noble attempt.

I think the eyes are in focus just chopped off everywhere I'll try better next time. ny suggestions?

You notice how the peacock feather is sharper in the one photo? I think you nailed focus on it.

Suggestions...hmm.

Try a narrower aperture if possible. Something like f/7.1 (i think thats a real f-number hehe). That will help keep more in focus if you happen to just barely be missing it. Try a wider anger but a closer position to your face and then crop. The wider the angle, the less telephoto compression and the larger the Depth of Field.

Also if you use the center focus point only, then you can just point the lens at your face and if you get the reflection if your eye in the middle of the front element of the lens, then it should be over the center focus point. Then just focus away. That's all I know.
