Thought I'd do a standard portrait for a change...but just add a different background.

QUOTED IMAGE

Nice shot, did you use self timer or a remote?

Thanks Salma!

Had to use both! My remote doesn't sync well with the Cactus receivers so I have use the self-timer with MLU to reduce the countdown to 2 secs...and make sure I chuck the remote to one side before the shutter fires!

...now if only I could afford PW's - life would be so much easier!!

Lol! Nothing advanced about it - just "work arounds" using cheap equipment!

Yes, background was added in post. Originally taken against my living room wall which has a hint of yellow.

Thanks again!

Week 2 of my 52 Week Self Portrait project. (Week 1 was nothing special.)

"The Gamer"

Was lazy last week but it was a Saturday morning and I couldn't sleep so I decided not to be lazy and continue my Self Portrait project.

I had been playing a lot of Fable II on my Xbox360 last week. I finally started the game after it's been collecting dust on the shelf for so long.

It's tough trying to make a "concentration" face that doesn't look like I'm either constipated or stupid.

It's also the first time I've used both my flashes remotely to light myself up sucessfully. I am also in love with this Sigma 18-50 lens. It's so damn sharp. I love it.

Thanks Bond007. I use PS3. I'm by no means an expert, but I did recently teach myself how to do digital makeup (external link), and the stars in the photo you quoted, which I used again in the most recent one (below). Mostly I do curves adjustments, portrait touch-ups, maybe some dodging and burning. As you said, I do also muck around with the backgrounds like in this one (external link) and this one (external link). When I am going to do that I shoot against a grey background (external link).
