I am the proud bearer of this amazing raven wing tattoo. I put these self portraits, taken with my canon camera taped to the wall, out there hoping to honor the great skill of the tattoo artist who created this tattoo. Bald Bill Henshaw of Yankee Tattoo is the artist. His skill and thoughtful application has given me a true piece of art to wear into the world.

That's an amazing piece of art! How long did that take? There was a tattoo thread; this should go in there too. Lemme know if you're even in WI; Love to shoot that tat.

Here's my self portrait. Shot with the 10 second timer.

i don't think you have to necessarily see the face for it to be a self portrait...

the focus is more on the watch though...

but still if he took them, then it's a lot closer than some of these other shots that were taken by someone else instead of a real self portrait

p.s....nice watches

Well, you did ask....

Those are some crazy expensive watches.... Personally, I would feel a bit nervous wearing something like that. I'm nervous enough walking around with my camera gear.... :(

I took them. Some of the photos involved a tripod and the timer, but I took 'em.

I collect 'em. Never had one bit of a problem wearing them anywhere in the world.

Some time ago I was given a gift of a fairly expensive watch (nowhere near as much as a Rolex, but it's in the four-digit range), and I haven't worn it once... I just get too nervous about damaging or losing it. Someone told me that even if I don't wear it, it'll need to be serviced eventually as the lubricants evaporate. He said something along the lines of "like all things, it's meant to be used." I suppose he's right.

I briefly contemplated trading it in for something I'd get a lot more use out of, like a lens... :D but I can't, it was a specific gift and I would feel bad about doing something like that.

Wear it! A well made timepiece is like a 1D or L lens, probably more durable than you think.

But it doesn't give me good bokeh! ;)

Thanks, I'm glad you like it. Surprisingly taking the photo and processing it didn't take long at all. Maybe 30 minutes tops. I quickly took 10 photos of me and picked the best one, then applied a custom action to the photo, selectively used the burn tool, and done. Cleaning up the mess didn't take too long either.
