Okay, show of hands. Who's interested? ;)

It just seems ridiculously expensive to me. I can't justify that cost at all. If I were a paid landscape pro then maybe, but sheesh that's steep...

Keep in mind that this is the MSRP and that most retailers will sell it for less. Most people don't realize that the MSRP for the 70-200 f/2.8L IS is like $2899.99 for example, and who honestly pays that? ;)

Mike most serious landscape photographers shoot medium or large format. Film (B&W) is still king in that world. Blad lenses are a bit more than Canon lenses so I guess is all relative.

I'll be sticking with my 14L mark I. It does what I need it to do on those rare occasions I need it. Though actually, now that we're renovating a house, its use has not been all that rare as of late.

If this new lens will be better than my Sigma 12-24 regarding to barrel distorion and sharpness and if it will not cost way too much, well, I'll sell both the Sigma and the 16-35 to get it! :)

Tamron has a 14mm f/2.8 for $1100 @ B&H. Currently there's a $100 rebate to knock that down to $999.

This is an excellent lens! I bought one back in 1999 and it's given superior service during that time. Sure, you lose a little on the 1.6 body, but since I'm eventually going to go full-frame I'm keeping it.

This is the lens that will complete my collection.

Translation: It is on my wish list but near the very bottom of it. I have a few more items, including the 500 f/4, that I will get first. I'm more into long than wide right now.
