I saw a couple guys shooting with 600's that had some sorta waist support system with a monopod or soemthing in it.

There was one guy with the 600 that had the monopod with a swivel head and he just had the monopod resting on his fanny pack...  :p it worked, but its not secure. It slipped a few times when I was with him. I'm actually thinking of buying a 16-35 mkI lens from him at Atlanta.

I have two 16-35 mkII's lens's. One of them is fixing to go by by to fund my 400 2.8 lens. You'll like the 16-35, get it.

Did you guys meet Brian J while you were out there shooting? He is one of the best at shooting bikes and a good guy. His setup us pretty impressive.

I only met dman22(from here at POTN) on the 'otherside' of the fence, no photogs pay much attention to the 'othersode' of the fence.

If you see me, you should shout out. :) I've met with all of the photog's in the media center, but I'm pretty bad with names. Joe Wierzbicki is the pro photog that I've been shadowing a bit and he knows everyone. He's been shooting motor sports for more than 30 years.
