Hey all, I did a shoot with my good friend. I attempted some strobist techniques. Tell me what you think.

I think that #1 is one of the best environmental portraits I have seen in a long time. Quite like the rest as well.

i think 6 is brilliant! I think 4 needs to be a bit of a closer crop, the pose is good, i just feel a bit detached from it. A bit more like this:

lighting is a bit on the harsh side and the last one is cropped in a bad spot, but aside from that she looks like she's a blast to shoot, a natural in front of the camera.

I like #6 and #7 the best. The pose and stark lighting are great in #6, and the poses/candids in #7 are really good. She looks most comfortable in these shots

#6 clearly stands above the rest imo, I also really like number 3 but it seems like it could use some contrast it just doesn't seem to pop that much.

I personally like the silhouette (number 5). I also like the set of shots that look like they came from an old photo booth at the arcade. Nicely done.

Hey, I assume you mean border around the picture, for just an individual picture. What I did was this:
1) Use the square marquee to make a box with about 1/4" (or however big you want it) between it and the edges.
2) Inverse the selection so that you now have a "border" selected.
3) Create a new layer and name it "Border"
4) Use the paint bucket and fill in the selected "border" region with the desired color, in this case white.
5) Flatten the image
6) Save as a different file name, like "73991" becomes "73991Border" or whatever works for you.

Hope that helps.
