I've seen many inspirational shots of the Moon, done with all sorts of lenses.
I've recently picked up a Tamron SP 500mm lens, and a Tamron SP BBAR 2X TCON, so I just had to take a stab at shooting the Moon. ;)
No cropping has been done here. Let me know what you think?
-Bruce
Shot at 1/160th and 1000mm of lens.

The Captain and crew finally got their stuff together, now if we can only remember where we left it.

Nice shot. Looks sharp with good detail in there.

I'm sure about the PP work though, not quite to my taste, not really a fan of high contrast moons, but many are ;)

What's the green tinge? Lens or post production?

All in all good work :D

Detail is fantastic, nicely composed as well, however the green tinge is a bit distracting.

Very nice detail and is really sharp, not gone on the green either.

Great shot, well done.

A load of Canon Gear.

Very good. Better than I have got with my gear so far, but there has been a lot of moisture in the night air here. I think I also need a stronger tripod - the Bigma and 2x etc weigh a ton!

Very nice shot Bruce, detail is excellent. You can convert to grayscale, warm the tone in PS and no more green. :-)

Let's see some crops of it to see the details even better -- Nice shot!! (I'd ditch the green to if it was intentional) My 100% crops look like your non-cropped shot - I'm so jealous (or is that green with envy???)

Thanks again to those that replied.
Monty, I checked for good crops, and couldn't find one I thought would do, especially after seeing those of Nighthounds. ;)

You can convert to grayscale.

That sounds like a good idea. Thanks for the idea. ;)
Nighthound, I hope you don't mind if I pick your Brain on occasion?

You're welcome to pick my brain Bruce, but you better hurry there's not much left. :-D

I like your GS conversion, looks excellent. Your shot blows away my early Moon shots. I wished they looked half this nice.
