2nd hand 17-85 IS [un-used] good price???

Hi, just thought i'd get some opinions on what would be a good price for a completely un-used, never taken out of box 17-85 IS.....

A friend is offering me one for £270 and although i don't need/want it [I have a 17-55 IS], it seems like a good price though, and my girlfriends mother has a 400d with just the kit lense so i thought this would be ideal for her.

So is it a good price, should i snap it up quickly.....????

Doesn't seem like too good of a price. You can get pristine condition ones on here for like 400 some USD.

Why does everybody list their gear here? :rolleyes:
