This is my other favorite image from Chicago that may get enlarged and framed. C&C welcome!

nice shot man. but were you REALLY supposed to be up there between the tracks. :-p Something I would have done. Is it up one story like it appears to be in the shot?

Yeah he was fine. He was on the platform! Great shot! I live in the south suburbs and since I got my camera earlier this year I have not had a chance to shoot downtown. Got anymore good shots?

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah I was on the platform after my first Cubs game (we were vising the city). It is an elevated track. The colors and saturation are much better when viewing the original image on 17x22 Epson Premium Luster paper.

Sin4jon, yeah a few other images from the trip if your interested:

Ah, the Red line. I go there often. I like to do urban shots in B&W kind of gives a grittyness (sp?) to the urban setting. Let me know if it is ok to edit your shot and I'll give you an idea of what I mean.

Just saw the B&W photos in your second link...never mind. Sorry to hear about your encounter with silver man downtown. He has been there for years and I see him every once and a while. Its not uncommon for him to yell at someone. I now have to go downtown and take his photo. Just to see what happens.

Just curious, I am still new at this.

But why did you choose an ISO of 400 instead of 100? And since speed was not important, why didnt you use Av mode and aperture around 8-10 which probably wouldve been the same.

Oddly enough, it looks a bit like the J line here at NYC, at the Myrtle Station. Good capture, I'd like to see it in black and white.

I have a very technical answer for you.

As soon as I visualized the shot, the train was approaching the platform and I only had seconds to get the camera out of the backpack, turn it on, point, shoot, and jump on the train! So, the shot was captured with my last used settings. :p

Later today Ill play with in it B&W and post the results.

Here is a B&W version. I don't know which one I like better.

I like the vintage look of the B&W. It matches the homes. I wondered which one Elwood Blues lives in.
