"Boost with Power Grip" ???
What is this a film camera that needs a power winder seperate?

No if you pay for the grip the camera will allow you to go to full speed. ;)

It's like overclocking a CPU...
More power and it can "think"/process faster. I thought the same thing at first though. In film it was because the "motor drive" was just that, a motor to move the film that fast.

Indeed. And competition is GOOD. I'm still waiting on the 5D mark 2 and the impressive features of the D300 are going to pressure Canon to agreesively integrate features, drop the price, and get it out the door quickly. I wish! =)

Yep.

I myself think that the D3 is an awesome camera. Has to have canon seriously looking at the 1DmIII... Yes Nikon has it's own issues, and I don't think any ISO above 1600 will be that usable, but still, 12mp, FF, 9fps?! That's AWESOME.

I love FF now that I'm on my 5D, but if I had a canon camera that had FF and 9fps I would sell a kidney to get one. Nikon just made this beast. Worth a switch, not until they make TS-Es, but I did notice they also made a bunch of new lens announcements to go with it... They're making a serious move on canon's sports market which only means good things for us too... :)

Better watch what you say, a very distant relative might just take you up on the offer. $5000 for a Kidney is mighty cheap!!!

Awesome haiku.

D70 rice cake noises…
Before D70 it writes yet.
ISO it raises with 1600
and the person face
becomes the rice cake
It takes so at real income
and the place where there
is a legal residence
there is an enemy
whom finally it throws away all.

ROFLMAO

It is like this but [ni] cone picture quality as the mess will be minutes when it does and they will not know the bedspread.

/\ WTF?! :)

Ah well, ISO6400 is about as dirty as a 30D (falsly) boosted to ISO12800

Canon shouldnt be worried at all.

Everyone who knows their stuff (which to me seems to be Canon owners) knows that IQ is king, sod everything else like ergonomics, which is Nikon's 'thing'.

Im not a Nikon basher BTW, I appreciate that they're good in their own respects but this about sums up the facts:

A mate of mine uses a 5D and works for a wedding photographer who uses Nikon. My friend is forbidden to use anything over ISO800. FORBIDDEN.

If the Nikon D3 is as clean as the 1D Mark II ISO for ISO I'd be very intrigued. I don't care if the 1D II is 3 years old & I don't expect Canon's current (read: Mark III) cleanliness but at $5,000 (vs $8.000 for a Canon), I'd be satisfied with that very much. Full frame goodness, plenty big 12MP files, and a pro grade body. I wouldn't need or want to deal with 21MP RAW files.

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)
