Hi,

Has anybody got facts or opinions as to whether the last shot of a sequence is any noisier than the first....from say 10 frames?

I'm not thinking of any specific camera model here, just the ability of the sensor to remain cool and noise free when in continuous mode.

Ummm... you shouldn't see any appreciable difference, Bob! The only times I have seen an increase in sensor noise is with long exposures for astrophotography (I'm talking 20 second exposures or longer), and even then only after taking several long exposures one right after another. Tens of exposures...

Are you seeing an increase in noise???

Yes, I believe I am although it was only based on one outing.

I was trying to shoot some swallows that were flying at "grasstop" height around a field. They twist and turn very quickly and I, from a slightly elevated position, got about 200 shots of empty grass and a few with a blurred bird just entering or exitting the frame. The odd shot that featured a full bird occurred when the bird was quite close....this was towards the end of each sequence as it was easier to pick them up coming towards me and keep tracking. The more distant grass looks quite good but the ones towards the end exhibited some noise.

My gear and I are a few thousand miles apart at the moment so I can't do any scientific tests....hence the requested hypothisis.

Bob
