Star Mazda at Mosport

I was at Mosport most of the day for the start of the American LeMans Series race weekend. It was a fairly miserable day weather wise. This is my third major racing event of the summer. I have been working hard at each event to get some good images. I have scanned through today's efforts and the following two caught my eye. Both were taken with my 70 - 200 mm at 200mm. The ISO for each is 400; the first was shot at 1/500 at f8.0 and the second at 1/1000 at f5.0.

Try panning (following) the cars at 1/320th first. then work your way down. This way you get more wheel and background motion blur, giving the impression of movement.

Ditto on slowing down those shutter speeds, some of the best motorsports shots i've seen are taken at 1/60th and 1/80th. In addition it may be helpful to knock that iso down to 100 or 200 in conjunction with the slower shutter speed. That being said, the composition in number two is good, i like the low angle.
