This was a throw away picture for me, till I was just doing some reading on composition. So I cropped it and did a conversion. Interested to see if you think it has any merit

I love it. The bright lights, blur of the cabs, the people walking about. Nightime in a big city.

Personally, I like this shot. It's appealing because all the things that zitcan mentioned. The lights, the cabs, and the people. I really liked it and I liked your conversion as well. Good job.

Good job! I like it and am glad you didn't throw it away. I like it for the same reasons above.

Yea I like a lot. One gripe, easily fixed. It would be much better bigger. Its too small as of now to see anything really. Or maybe I'm going blind, IDK. Super easy to fix though if you even wanna call it fixing.

I think this is an excellent capture. The man on the right (are those pedicabs his?) looks forlorn and lost in the city. The highlights are a bit blown out, but it's ok, it is a street photo where capturing the moment supercedes any technical flaws. I do agree that it could be a bit bigger, maximum side should not exceed 800 pixels though according to posting rules.

thanks every one. I usually just post to flickr, and then use the medium size to link to here, b/c the large is 1200 size, and I find that when I try to upload as an attachment, I have to compress the jpeg so much, it destroys the image. the highlights are blown. interestingly some of that happened during the conversion to sepia, which I can fix.

I am gonna try a direct upload. yes he was the driver.

Wow. soo much more to see now. I love it. Captures exactly what I see when I'm up in New York.

Just read closer, don't worry about the blown highlights, it is fine how it is. MAkes it look more like the city at night.
