So, glorious weather, new camera gear to try out and some racing = a great day. However, it was a bit of a disappointment too. Being an evo magazine track day, I was expecting some exotica, a good selection of cars and perhaps a few other good things thrown in.

The reality was the track was dominated by Radicals and Minis who had booked onto the day to practice for their races at the weekend. I should have known really.

But, all in all, good fun and some reasonable shots. C&C very welcome :-)
All taken with 1DMk III and 300mm2.8LIS.
Jon

Hi there,
I'm down at Cadwell tomorrow for the BSB practice sessions.
Hope you have a good one at Croft and remember the sun cream (I have a red neck!).
Jon :-)

I am thinking of going to Croft one day and just wondered what it's like. Can you get close to the action or are you far away and need good telephoto lense. Any help would be nice.

Martin, Your 100-400 should be fine. I much prefer Cadwell though - better opportunities for some good shots. (I was there today!) :-)

They've spoiled Croft with the new fence from Sunny Out to the Complex.

Also, as you'll need a long lens to shoot from the public areas, you'll run into heat haze problems on anything like a hot day.
