found this guy on the mint flowers dont really know what it is if anyone can help. i love the textures of the eyes never seen it before.

Great job Mrvile on identifying it, I took out all the info I had posted since it was no longer relevant. :)

It's actually still a member of the syrphid family, which means it's closely related to hoverflies and the sort. The eyes are really cool, and this particular one is an Eristalinus taeniops.
