What a superb day! Decided to go on practice day and it was a good decision - not TOO busy and no problem with getting in and out of the area. We had awesome weather, met some great people (hello Bob!) and was very pleased with how the 300mm and the MkIII performed.

C&C VERY welcome - would really appreciate any tips and advice.

Jon

Love the Jonny Rea shot, maybe you could do something different with the angles an tight crops? 1/160th to slow IMO you will get more keepers at 1/250th +. I would say the 300mm is to long for a lot of you pics, perhaps a 70-200mm would be a better bet at the top of the mountain and hall bends.

Look forward seeing more.

Cheers

Hi Nick,

Thanks for the advice -I think you're right, should have got the 70-200 out! Will try next time at 1/250th.

More pics here (external link).

Cheers!

Jon.
The racing bike's now have so much colour on them. I think it's a shame to convert your pictures to black and white.
I notice you also have flying bike picture, what's the go, is there a whopper bump in the track that sends them flying??
Cheers Ken.

Good panning technique. The colors really pop. That MKIII is doing you well. Good job!

I like the Johnathan Rea and Crutchlow shots the best, i shot quite a few @ 600mm and some at 840mm
