I finally got the time to finish most of the shots I thought were the best. I'm only going to post 3 at a time as I want to get good critique and I find that if too many pics are posted in a thread it's harder to get good critiques on them. Anyway, looking forward to your thoughts!!:D

Nice and clear! good job, but I think her face is a bit bright on the first two. Not sure about the third....maybe because her elbow is cropped off?
Great exposures!

Hi, I think they all look great! I like the 2nd and 3rd the best. I own a Canon Rebet xt also, so I hope you don't mind if I ask you a question. What shutter speed and aperture did you use to blur the background on the 3rd one. I think I might be having problems with my camera because lately I can't seem to blur out the backgrounds.

Thanks,

Teeny:)

She looks as though she is having fun, I always like to see that when I see shots of people.

she is very beautiful.
1. Her arm is too straight, it looks weird. I like the conversion. Next time have her throw her shoes off. And if I were her I would probably hate the way my stomach looks.

3.Her hand looks weird. Her shirt needs cleaned. Her eyes need a little sharpening.

She will probably love them and you should like them too. I am just offering some c&c for the next time. I hope I didn't come off harsh.

Tenny, She used a 70-200 zoomed out at 200 and f/4 at 1/500 shutter spead. The bluring has to do with your lens not the camera. What are your setting when you are trying to blur the background?

A note to teeny, use a wide aperture and make sure you don't use short focal lengths. Wide angle lenses have a much greater DOF than long lenses. Do a search on DOF calculator.

Hi, my shutter speed was not that high. I shoot mostly indoors with backdrops. I have taken some outside and managed to blur on occasion, but when I am trying it never seems to work anymore. My lens is a 18-200mm 1:3.5-6.3 macro.

Thanks,

Teeny

I like the second shot the best. Changing the pose a bit on the first would have helped a bit with the belly. Moving the legs away would have given us a more "side on" view of the tummy and would make the legs look longer and thinner. You obviously worked well with her as she looks like she is having a great time! :)

I messed a little with the eye, the white looked a little iffy on it, also a ROUGH edit of her stomach to flatten it a bit and clean up the shirt, did a lil tummy tuck on the side, Hope you don't mind.

I think she will like that better. IMO we are in the business of making people look their very best. I like to use the liquify tool in photoshop to gently remove bulges in the wrong places. I have never told a client that I do this and they have never noticed! They just really like the photos! I think if you tried to go too far they would catch it and be insulted or hurt. It has to be subtle.

Teeny,
Shutter speed has nothing to do with it. It is aperture and focal length that are important. Open that lens up, walk backwards a bit and zoom out. If you look at the EXIF of your photo and the focal length is under 50mm or your aperture is a large number, you have found your problem.
