I know I've read in other threads that additonal batteries for the DRebel have been purchased at Radio Shack and other retailers. These batteries are less expensive than the Canon batteries but work just fine. I went to my local Radio Shack and they indicated they couldn't even order this battery (replacement for BP-511 for DRebel).

Where have others purchased additional batteries for the DRebel? What kind of prices are we looking at? I'm trying to save $$ where I can as long as the products work fine.

ebay is big on generic BP-511 batteries... they sell as cheap as like $12 a piece. local camera stores should carry some generic brands as well as maybe even a CompUSA compture store. i have had a generic and i had no problems with it. i would prolly stick with a large name off brand than some underground company that doesnt even print their name on the box...

I'll second the walmart vote! Even though I hate their predatory practices, I will admit to buying two BP-511 batteries from them.
