Using a 75-300 zoom with the 2 dioptre Canon close up lens seems a tolerably good combo until I can get a real macro lens. Both these shots were taken using that combo.
Today I went looking brown hairstreak butterflies, but it's a poor year following the summer deluge and I didn't see a single one. As compensation I caught this male brimstone butterfly. Hand held, autofocus.

Then when I got home the little orb spider I posted recently was still around so I fished out the tripod for the first time in years and tried an 8 image focus stack using CombineCZ. I was surprised that it actually worked! Needless to say this one was on a tripod, manual focus.
