After 2+ years with the 20D, I finally got me a 5D. I chose my lens carefully with the full intent to go FF, now I have first hand experience of the "WOW" factor the other users have been enjoying. Portrait is my main game, and I am thrill with what FF brings and quality images from the 5D.

So what I need to joint the club?

A duck shot?

Congrats on the 5D! The 5D is an awesome camera. And to mate it with the 24-70,70-200, and the 50 1.4. They are a joy to use on that body. Enjoy it and have fun!

From what i read the 24-70 is sharper. and its a f2.8.

Great purchase. I wish this camera would be less expensive considering it's age.

greenxeyezz, I did have the 24-70 and the 24-105 in my hands before I chose the 24-70, because of the f2.8 and I like it's hood better. Now with the 5D, I do wish the 2/7 could be 15mm longer.

jdizzle, thank you. I have to relearn the focal length with FF, but I can't wait to do one of those all day shoot with nothing but the 50, which was not very pratical with the 20D.

I personally am not a fan of the 24-105 L. Most people who have the 24-105 wind up selling it and getting the 24-70 anyways. I like the build of the 24-70 and I have no issues with the weight either. You should see the 17-40 on FF and/or fisheye. It's so dang wide. :)

Shh...don't remind me that or I might end up getting one :)

I probably would get couple of primes before the ultra wild. Let me ask you experienced FF users: if you can take only one prime lens with you for a day, which one would it be?

If I were to go prime all day, it would be the a 35 L or 50 L. Foot zooming is fun. :)

I've been WOWing with my 5D for about a month now. Still blows me away how great it is. I also have the 24-70 and though I wish it was a little longer, it still stays on the 5D most of the time. The 24-105 L IS is now at the top of my wish list.

I do very little editing on my photos and the exception is usually only cropping. Just recieved a package of prints on Saturday and all everyone can say is "WOW, look at the colors and how clear these photos are!" (they think I'm getting better at being a photographer and know nothing about my equipment ... heh heh heh! :) )

Good luck and enjoy your 5D!
