Ok, so with Nikon dipping their toe into the 35mm FF market do you think we will see a price war pushing the price down of future full frame sensors in more affordable bodies??

I hope they fight tooth and nail. I really want to jump into full frame, but I think that the price of the 5D is way too much for what it actually is (Forget he 1Ds!) Hopefully Nikon will help to make Canon prices more realistic in the future. We need even competition, it seems that Nikon is finally making some progress. Bill Hicks Photography

I'm guessing that Nikon is introducing FF for the action sports demographic: as the D3X is not in the same category as the 5D. Canon 5D mk IV

There is less grain/noise, the shutter speed is twice as fast and the birds look marginally closer.

I think the companies are smart enough to realize that as long as there is a market for crop bodies, there's no need to lower the price to attract people to go full frame. And while they are the only two companies who currently sell full frame bodies (minus kodak? they have one, dont they?), they sort of have a monopoly in their favor.
