Plume moth

Caught a plume moth the other day in the house on the ceiling using a card and glass. managed to get a few shots by lfiting one side of the glass before releasing it back outside.

Well there not the most interesting of creatures are they .

I use that method with the clear glass container and a piece of card - when they settle in the bottom i remove the glass - extremely well captured Brian ...

only seen the white ones here, they are quite bizarre.

Maybe not like them..but that photo makes it look nice.

Strange looking things when not stuck on a window

I didn't know what those things were called so I've learned something today. It's interesting to note that it doesn't seem to have any means to feed with a proboscis like butterflies, and many but not all moths, and of course mayflies.
These are obviously good shots Brian, but I guess we've become a little spoilt for the LordV spectaculars.

Eccles- I'd guess it has got a proboscis hidden in there somewhere.
